Pelvic Pain & Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Your pain is real. And you deserve to understand why it’s happening.
Pelvic pain can affect nearly every part of life—from sitting, exercising, and working to sleeping, using the bathroom, or being intimate with your partner. You may have been dealing with symptoms for months or even years. You may have tried medications, procedures, or other treatments without getting the lasting relief you hoped for.
You don't have to simply live with pelvic pain.
At Anewu, I take the time to understand your symptoms, your history, and how your body is functioning as a whole. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan designed around your goals and your life.
Pelvic pain can show up in many ways:
✔️ Pelvic, abdominal, or lower abdominal pain
✔️ Pain with sitting or prolonged positions
✔️ Pain with intimacy or penetration
✔️ Pain with urination or bowel movements
✔️ Tailbone or pelvic pain
✔️ Hip or low back pain connected to pelvic floor dysfunction
✔️ Pelvic pressure, tightness, or muscle tension
✔️ Pain that worsens with exercise or activity
✔️ Symptoms that fluctuate with your menstrual cycle
✔️ Persistent pain without a clear explanation
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Isn't Always About Weakness
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that needs to be able to contract, relax, lengthen, and coordinate with the rest of your body.Sometimes pelvic floor muscles are weak. Sometimes they are overactive or unable to fully relax. And sometimes the problem is less about the pelvic floor itself and more about how the pelvic floor, hips, spine, breathing, and nervous system are working together. That's why treatment isn't one-size-fits-all.
How I Can Help
Understand What's Contributing to Your Symptoms
Your first visit includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, history, lifestyle, and goals. We'll work together to identify factors that may be contributing to your pain and determine where to begin.
Reduce Pain & Muscle Tension
Depending on your needs, treatment may include hands-on manual therapy, pelvic floor techniques, breathing strategies, nervous system regulation, and individualized movement and exercise.
Restore Strength & Coordination
Once your symptoms are ready for it, we'll progressively work on strength, mobility, coordination, and your ability to tolerate the activities that are important to you.
Address the Whole Body
Your pelvic floor doesn't work in isolation. Your hips, spine, core, breathing patterns, and nervous system can all influence how you feel and function. My orthopedic background allows me to look at these connections rather than focusing only on the painful area.
You Don't Have to Put Your Life on Hold
Pelvic pain can make you afraid to exercise, sit comfortably, travel, have intimacy, or participate in the things you enjoy. Treatment isn't about forcing your body through pain. It's about understanding what's happening, building your capacity, and helping you gradually return to the life you want to live.
You deserve care that listens to you, takes your symptoms seriously, and gives you a path forward.
