Pelvic Organ Prolapse & Pessary Fitting

You don't have to give up the activities you love because of prolapse.
Pelvic organ prolapse is common, especially after pregnancy and childbirth, but that doesn't mean you have to simply live with symptoms or limit the activities that matter to you.
If you're experiencing pelvic pressure, heaviness, a feeling of bulging, urinary symptoms, or changes in how your pelvic floor feels during exercise or daily activities, pelvic health physical therapy can help.
At Anewu, I provide personalized care to help you better understand your symptoms, improve pelvic floor function, and find strategies that allow you to feel more comfortable and confident in your body.
You may benefit from pelvic health therapy if you experience:
✔️ A feeling of pressure, heaviness, or fullness in the pelvis
✔️ A vaginal bulge or sensation that something is “falling out”
✔️ Urinary leakage or difficulty fully emptying your bladder
✔️ Symptoms that worsen with standing, lifting, running, or exercise
✔️ Pelvic discomfort after pregnancy or childbirth
✔️ Difficulty participating in activities because of prolapse symptoms
✔️ A diagnosis of pelvic organ prolapse
How I Can Help
Pelvic Floor Evaluation
We'll discuss your symptoms, activity level, medical and birth history, and goals. Your evaluation will help identify factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and determine an appropriate treatment plan.
Pessary Fitting
A pessary is a removable device that can provide support for pelvic organs and may help reduce symptoms associated with prolapse. I can help determine whether a pessary may be appropriate for you and work with you to find a comfortable fit.
Your fitting may include education on:
-
How the pessary works
-
Insertion and removal
-
Cleaning and care
-
What to expect while wearing it
-
How to use it during exercise or other activities, when appropriate

Pelvic Floor & Whole-Body Strengthening
Pelvic floor rehabilitation is about more than simply doing Kegels. We'll look at how your pelvic floor works with your breathing, core, hips, and overall movement to develop a personalized exercise program based on your symptoms and goals.
Return to the Activities You Love
A prolapse diagnosis doesn't automatically mean you need to stop running, lifting, exercising, or being active. Together, we'll work on strategies to help you safely participate in the activities that are important to you.
You Have Options
You don't have to choose between living with prolapse symptoms and giving up the activities you love.
There are many ways to manage pelvic organ prolapse, and your treatment should be based on your symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. My goal is to help you understand your options and create a plan that allows you to feel supported, confident, and active.
